Gear for junior sailors, from Optimist beginners to youth squad — wetsuits, spray tops, rash vests and thermals in genuine past-season stock from Zhik, Rooster, Musto and Slam. Two things worth knowing. First, kids get cold faster than adults, so for anything beyond high summer a wetsuit or decent thermals under a spray top beat optimism. Second, sizing strategy differs by garment: a wetsuit must fit snugly now — a suit bought to grow into flushes cold water through and does nothing — while spray tops and outer layers can carry a season of growing room. Name everything; sailing club changing rooms are where kit goes to disappear.
