Salopettes

Chest-high waterproof salopettes — the standard lower half for coastal and offshore sailing, worn under a matching jacket. The bib front and braces keep spray and green water out when you are bent over a winch or sitting on the rail, which waist trousers cannot do. Coastal weights are lighter and more flexible; offshore versions use heavier 3-layer fabric with substantial seat and knee reinforcement for days of kneeling on non-slip. Our stock is genuine past-season Musto, Sail Racing, Zhik and Slam. Fit them over a base layer and mid layer, then check you can lift a knee to chest height freely — if the seat pulls tight, go up a size.
